Summer weather once again, with weak dribble for waves.  It was a great morning for the Avon 5k though, and the runners showed up in force.

A Brisk Start

Teams from the Training Room in Avon carried Kettlebells throughout the race.  It certainly was an interesting wrinkle to a jaunt along the beach and a testament to their overall level of fitness.

The vibe along the race route was friendly with everyone cheering each other on.  By mid-morning the last of the racers had cleared the finish line, just in time for the crowds on the beach to swell.

As a side note, I should have “Surfer Into the Woods Part II” coming along soon.  At last check, Daniel was well along his way.  If you are interested check out Jersey Fresh in my Blogroll.  That guy is a classic.

Had an afternoon tennis match in 90 degree heat. Two full sets, the second in a tie-breaker. Much respect to all of the runners though. It was a great race.
